<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000"><p>Established in 1988 in New Jersey by Joe Carr Sr. as Guardian Yacht Mgt., the original format of the business was Management & Consulting. After retiring from a 21-year career as owner of a Mercedes repair center and selling the business at age 40, he was too young to sit around. Joe searched for something he wanted to do that he would enjoy with a passion. Being a boater at that time for more than 20 years, and having provided consulting services to many friends and fellow boaters over that time, he was dragged into helping manage fellow boaters' needs. Being a mechanic and very knowledgeable boater, his expertise and knowledge were in great demand and so began his now thirteen-year career in the boating industry.</p><p>In 1989, Joe and his family moved to Palm City, Florida to enjoy boating year-round and further his business. His plan to sell yachts was put on hold, however, due to the Luxury Tax that had greatly harmed the industry at that time. Joe then fell back on his mechanical background and started a marine service company. First working at a boat yard, Joe soon expanded on his own to become Guardian Yacht Mgt. & Yacht Service, a company with several dealerships. In the years that followed he did every mechanical and electrical installation, as well as repair of any and all systems found on boats up to 90 feet, including: gas & diesel engines, generators, air conditioners, stabilizers, bow thrusters - on and on the list goes. He was a dealer for Yanmar Diesel, Kohler Generators, Cruisaire A/C, Wesmar Bow Thrusters, Crusader Engines, and other top-line manufacturers. In 1993, Joe sold the repair business while keeping the management business. When boating sales started to revive he began selling boats for a small brokerage in Stuart, thus beginning his sales career. He then moved up to a large brokerage that represented 5 major new boat lines. With his background, Joe brings to his clients vast knowledge of boats, from construction to machinery and everything in between. Upon achieving his tenure and ability to get his own Brokers license in 1995, Joe opened Guardian Yacht Mgt & Yacht Sales.</p><p>Today Joe has a loyal group of ever expanding clients and has given his customers the best service available. He has run and delivered vessels from the Great Lakes, as far north as Maine and the entire East Coast, knowing boating has been his passion and it gives him great pleasure to be with experienced boaters and teach the new ones the ropes. Joe has started many would be boaters into the right boat for them by taking the time to analyze their needs and desires.
